Served in Preaching Ministry since 1992

Who led you to the Lord?
My greatest influence came through my home youth group. My peers along with an elder (Phil) who was leading the youth, had a strong influence on leading me to faith in Jesus.

Family
Cheryl and I were married July 1992. We have three children: Paige, Ian, and Joel

What do you like best about Franklin Avenue
The commitment to the truth of the Scriptures and desire to know and understand more.
The solid, Biblical eldership and their commitment to the church.

Education background
1993 graduate of Central Christian College, Moberly, MO with a Bachelor of Science degree in ministry

What is the purpose of a minister?
To teach and preach the truth of the Word of God. To train and equip people for the work of the church. To cast vision and help lead the church forward. To serve and love people.

What is the purpose of the church?
To faithfully administer God’s grace (1 Peter 4:8-11). People need to hear of that grace, but they also need to see that grace displayed in our actions.

Favorite book of the Bible
It’s hard to pick just one, but Hebrews stands out. I love the comparisons of the old and new covenants as well as the supremacy of Jesus to all others. Hebrews helps the reader see God’s plan through the ages.

Favorite sport
Football. Go, Cowboys!

Favorite activities
Most of my time is taken with ministry and family. I enjoy golf but, when I play, there is a great danger to anyone in the fairway to the right. I enjoy watching my children in their activities. My wife and I try to volunteer for the school and other activities in which our children participate.
