Franklin Avenue Christian Church is striving to model our ministry and our lives after the example found in the pages of the New Testament.
In Acts chapter two, verses 42 through 47, we find a community of believers living out their new-found faith in Jesus by participating in four activities:
- hearing and following the teaching of the Apostles
- constant fellowship with others who were following Jesus
- sharing in the Lord's meal by breaking bread together
- praying for each other and the spread of the Gospel
We also find them nurturing their faith, as well as the faith of others, by meeting together in two ways:
- large gatherings at the Temple for preaching and worship
- small groups in the homes for teaching and fellowship
Franklin Avenue offers several different ministries and programs in hopes of creating the same bonds that held those early belivers together:
- Sunday Morning Worship - created around the Word and Table, this is our time for worship, preaching, and the Lord's meal.
- Small Groups - these are times of study and fellowship that enable us to nurture a deeper relationship with God and His people.
- Childrens' Education Programs - various times of teaching are planned each week to help our children and teens become young adults who will love and serve the Lord all their lives.
- Ministries - each member of the Body is encouraged to use their God-given gifts and talents to offer the ministry of Christ to our community.
- Special Events - several times a month, different gatherings and functions are planned for the simple purpose of building close and lasting friendships with the other members of the Body.
